Season 10 Recap

Our tenth season is in the books and was truly monumental for us. We are so proud of our singers, volunteers and board members who pitched in to make the season more than just a numerical milestone. Here are some highlights!

Community Engagement

Our Fall and Spring concerts last season were our most well attended ever! Those two events have historically been our smaller events, but season 10 brought an average of 200 local audience members per concert. We also had a presence at the Plaza Art fair for the first time in order to expose people to our music that probably would not otherwise come across choral music. We are also so grateful to the community of givers to our non-profit. This season marked an almost 400% growth in our number of individual donors. Thank You!

Innovations in Performance

In February and March we collaborated with local Jazz/Gospel legend Millie Edwards and London based composer/pianist Will Todd in the American Premiere of his “Passion Music.” This journey into the Jazz idiom was a first for us and the first time we have collaborated across the pond!

National Stage!

We were honored to perform at TWO national conventions of musicians this year as they made their way to KC. The American Guild of Organists and the American Choral Directors Association both featured Kantorei KC on their programs giving us exposure to the national music scene in new and exciting ways!

We are looking forward to providing you another season of great music in 2019-20! Be sure to join us on Sept 22nd for our season opener!
